My Boston Radical Transformation Worksheet

grievingIn my blog about the Boston bombing I made the point that doing a “spiritual bypass,” in which we avoid feeling the pain of something that has happened by immediately going to some spiritual reframe of the event, is to deny our humanity. We are made as feeling beings and to deny that fact is to deny our reason for being here in a human body.

That’s why I say that Radical Forgiveness, which does attempt to reframe events in spiritual terms, is not an intervention technique. It only works if we first let the emotional energy move through us as feelings, and then, when we can be more reflective, do the work on reframing the situation in the spiritual context. But all in good time.

Even then, our mind will want to come in and negate any attempt to put a spiritual interpretation on it. That’s why we have worksheets. They enable us to bypass the mind and go straight to our Spiritual Intelligence. Even though to do a worksheet feels like we are just faking it, our Higher Self knows the truth and helps us come to peace.

I promised I would do a Radical Transformation worksheet on the bombing itself and post it, so here it is. With this worksheet, the focus is on the event itself and how it makes us feel. If we want to work on our feelings towards the two bombers, we would need to use a Radical Forgiveness worksheet.

Anyway, try this and see if it helps you to feel more peaceful. It will help to shift the energy in the situation itself that is the real underlying cause of this event and will contribute to bringing Love to the situation. Only Love is real and Love will heal everything — eventually.

Colin, thank you for sharing your Radical Transformation Worksheet with us. I was feeling much the same thing: those boys seemed likable and kind until something happened to radicalize them. My reaction is fear. Fear that others around me harbor evil intentions. It’s much easier for me to project that fear onto corporations like Monsanto and the oil companies (“poisoning our planet, greedy”) than to look at what my fear is mirroring back about me. I need to do one of your Radical Transformation Worksheets!

Colin, wow, thank you so much for waking me up from my by pass on this subject. I had just dismissed this incident as another sad example of our inhumanity to each other. After going through this worksheet myself I am feeling a deeper connection with not only myself but to everyone. What a gift it is to feel our feelings, to feel our humanness and to feel the divinity in all of us. Thank you again.

Thanks, Colin. I think along similiar lines, that we are spiritual beings having human experiences and those human experiences can be and are very significant. Some, in New Thought circles, dismiss them as “illusion.” I get that they do not have to define all that we are our shape our lifes negatively, but they are often the passage ways of lessons and Grace for me. I wish you well in your healing work.

    Blair
